Recognising
a Lifetime of Achievement
As
the evening drew to a close, it was time to give
recognition two men who had spent a lifetime achieving
excellence far and beyond all expectations. The
two distinguished gentlemen honoured were Y.Bhg
Tan Sri Dato' Prof. Dr. Lim Kok Wing who received
Technology Business Review Lifetime Achievement
Award for A Lifetime Of Humanitarian Efforts, Inspiring
Creativity And Innovations and Y.Bhg Tan Sri Dato'
Sri Dr. Teh Hong Piow who received the Technology
Business Review Lifetime Achievement Award For a
Lifetime of Corporate Excellence, Dedication and
Financial Industry.
Ms.
Beatrice Nirmala read out the citations for both Tan
Sri Lim and Tan Sri Teh. She spoke of Tan Sri Lim's
long years of dedication and service to creative excellence
for over 30 years, his pioneering efforts as a creative
force in both advertising and education and his wonderful
humanitarian efforts.
Tan
Sri Lim was lauded as a pioneer, a captain of two
industries - advertising and education, an educationist,
a humanitarian, a patriot, a nation builder and of
course, a man whose name has become a by-word for
creative excellence and innovations.
For
Tan Sri Teh, she spoke of his excellence and long
years of service in the banking industry. We were
told of how Tan Sri Teh, started Public Bank as a
young man of 36. How his business and financial acumen
led to it being the third largest bank in Malaysia
and how he has married his wonderful sense of business
with hard work and industry.
Tan
Sri Teh was lauded as an entrepreneur, a banking grandmaster,
a well-known philanthropist, a business guru, a man
of the people and a pillar of the community. The two
awards were presented by Alfred Adaikalaraj.
